RICH TEE / DJ
RICH TEE’s journey through the rave scene began in 1987 when, at just 15 years old, he accidentally found himself at a warehouse party in Digbeth, Birmingham, during the rise of Acid House in the Midlands. That pivotal night sparked a lifelong passion for Acid, Chicago, Detroit, Techno, and House music. Later that year, his parents gifted him a mixer and a pair of turntables for Christmas, leading him to start collecting vinyl—mainly focused on Acid and Techno.
RICH TEE and his crew traveled the UK, raving at legendary venues like Eclipse, Shellys, Q Club, Amen, and The Vine. In the early days, house parties were thrown in back gardens, garages, and sheds—anywhere with enough space and power to set up the gear. His skills behind the decks quickly developed, and he began playing at parties that lasted till daylight. One of his first big gigs was at a warehouse known as Unit 11 in Wolverhampton, which ran for around four months before it was shut down by the local council. After that, the crew moved on to another spot in Walsall, keeping the spirit alive.
Though DJing was always more of a hobby than a profession for RICH TEE, he continued to mix at home on and off over the years. In February 2024, a friend lent him a Pioneer controller, reigniting his passion for DJing. He upgraded his gear, started streaming, and soon got an invitation to play on Portsmouth Underground Radio. The station quickly became like family to him, with no egos—just a group of passionate music lovers. Now, RICH TEE gets to play the Acid tracks he loves, and the journey just keeps getting better.
Even after decades, RICH TEE is still raving and DJing, with no plans to stop anytime soon. Keeping it old school, always.
