TWEEDCOAST UNDERGROUND / DJ

DJ Nick C and DJ Chas C (TWEEDCOAST UNDERGROUND) are the ultimate father-and-son DJ duo, blending their passion for house, garage, and the ocean. Originally from the south coast of England, they packed up their lives 15 years ago and made the move to the sun-kissed shores of Australia’s Tweed Coast, where the surf’s always up, and the beats are always banging.

Nick C started spinning the decks properly back in 1990, during the golden age of raves in Sydney. But his DJ roots go even deeper—before making the big move Down Under, Nick was part of the UK’s underground free party scene in the late ’80s, helping set up legendary raves on the Isle of Wight with his close mates DJ Kiwi (Neil Webb) and John Anderson. When he wasn’t throwing bush-bashing free parties, Nick was a regular on the pub and club circuit around Portsmouth, spinning tunes alongside Chrissy Trip and Rob Dwaitos.

As for young Charlie (aka DJ Chas C), he was practically born with a set of decks in front of him—starting to mix at the ripe old age of 4! Growing up with music in his blood and the surf at his doorstep, Charlie’s been producing house and garage tracks since high school. With about 10 solid tracks under his belt, he’s quickly made a name for himself as a talent to watch.

Nowadays, you’ll find Charlie regularly DJing the local scene around Tweed Heads and Coolangatta, tearing up the clubs, bars, and epic bush doofs (Aussie slang for outdoor raves). And when the vibe calls for something special, Nick and Chas team up for sets down at the Sanyas Commune in Mullumbimby, where the beats flow as freely as the good vibes.

Whether they’re shredding waves or dropping tunes, Nick C and Chas C are all about the music, the surf, and the endless energy that comes from a life lived loud.
